Karaoke Etiquette - Do's & Don't's |

DO By all means HAVE FUN! That is what karaoke and life is all about!
DO Applaud every SINGER (good or bad) you may be NEXT!
DO Treat the microphone & other equipment with respect (most KJs have over $10,000 tied up in equipment).
DO Make sure your song numbers are correct. You will either delay the show or might be skipped over.
DO Be respectful of the audience, songs with abusive language where children are present is just NOT COOL!
DO Tip your KJ, he is working to help you have a good time. Plus he does have a huge investment to pay for.
DO Make 1st time & new singers feel welcome. Everyone likes encouragement.
DO Be fair to everyone & bring only ONE SONG request up at a time. (Prevents confusion & all get a chance)
DO By All Means, if you had fun let the KJ know!!! Most do clubs & private parties, so if interested just ASK!
DON'T - BOO or heckle any singer, its all about having fun & thats all that matters. (The people that are the worst offenders are usually the ones that don't have the courage to get up there)
DON'T Bring your DRINK to the stage. Liquids and electronics DON'T mix well.
DON'T Join a singer on stage to help or back up unless invited. Its not only rude it can cause problems.
DON'T Complain if someone signs your song. Unless of course you happen to be the original artist! You Don't Own It!!!
DON'T Talk & yell loud, especially if your near the stage. Be respectful of others as you would expect the same.
DON'T Ask to be moved ahead of others (unless of course your request is attached to a large tip...LOL!!!) We try to keep a regular rotation, but new singers will be worked in. Everyone gets a turn.
DON'T Sign up under different names so you can sing more, its not fair! (You will also probably be banned from singing for the rest of the night.
